The essence of rose, as delicate as a perfume of angels and blue skies, is devilishly voluptuous. It is said to have been used first in the year 1021 Hegira, by the mother of a Mughal Princess. One day she noticed that distilled rose petals left traces of oil floating on the water's surface. She gathered this oil to present it to Emperor Djihangury. To this day such a gift remains opulent, as four thousand kilos of petals of the most exquisite roses must be hand-picked to produce one liter of essential oil. The aroma of Rose Poivree spawns feelings of mischievous angels playing in heavenly blue skies.
