Before applying I exfoliated & moisturized my lips. I do this with almost every lip color or gloss I use. I used this for the very first time and am disappointed with its performance. I was expecting that after applying it would last hours before having to refresh it or reapply. It went on smooth and beautifully, but after about an hour I could feel it starting to get "tacky" and sticky. It started clumping around the insides of my lips (yuck) When I looked in the mirror, my lips looked dry, flakey and had tiny clumps of the color around the perimeter. I'm not sure if it's the combination of the color with the gloss that caused it but it didn't perform well for me at all. It didn't Outlast. If I could improve this product, I would make the color side a lip stain vs. a cream that dries. At least with a lip stain, you know what you're getting and it really does last.

The applicator is the best: a slanted, light sponge that applies gloss so evenly and smoothly, and you have better control over the amount as opposed to a wand or brush. The colors stay true and are long-lasting so no need for continual application too frequently. The darker colors in the "red family" are dazzling and rich, and the lighter colors have the best color-load as opposed to the sheers which are more transparent - not a bad look, either, though. The ONLY thing that isn't great about it is it's hard to find now! I use the lighter pinks & nudes for casual day-wear or anytime I wear a smoky eye, and the richer ruby-like colors are best for those dressy evening events.
