There are Mud Masks Available for all Skin Types
Whether your skin is oily, dry or combination, adding a mask to your weekly skin care regime can be very beneficial. Masks can deep clean your skin, tighten your pores, exfoliate dead skin and overall they can brighten your face.
When you think of mud, the word “dirt” probably pops into your head; it’s something you try to keep off your face and out of your pores. The mud used in masks, however, is very different than the dirt you encounter on a daily basis. These masks are made from mud and clay that is specifically mined from areas without contaminants, and are actually formulated to remove dirt and oil from your pores and absorb them through the chemical elements in the mud. They are recommended for oily and combination skin-types, but there are formulations available for dry skin as well.
Borghese Fango Mud is a tried-and-true product that has been around for many years, and gets its mineral-enriched mud from Tuscany’s volcanic hills. It can be used on the face and body to unclog pores, eliminate dead skin cells and detoxify skin impurities.
If your skin is dry, the focus of your weekly mask should be to hydrate your skin at the same time you are deep cleaning pores. A moisture mask, such as the one from Jason Natural, will rejuvenate and plump your skin, leaving it looking younger. Formulated with Ester-C, along with vitamins A and E, this paraben and fragrance- free mask helps fight free radical damage caused by the sun and environmental stresses, while promoting collagen production.
Many body treatments are better left to be enjoyed at a health or beauty spa because of their complexity, but body masks can be applied at home, providing the same cleansing and detoxifying benefits to the body that is received when applying a mask to the face. Look for products containing oatmeal to soothe dry, itchy skin, clay to detoxify skin, and aloe vera to aid in healing skin.
Whatever your skin type, masks are inexpensive, efficient and easy to use in your own home as part of a weekly skin care routine.
