    Shalimar has been around for a long time for good reason. It may be old but certainly doesn't smell ancient! This is still one of the most gorgeous and sensual fragrances you can buy at a relatively decent price. Men stop me all of the time whenever I wear it. I also like Shalimar because it seems to work on many people with relative ease. It is also quite potent which is important to me as fragrances tend to fade fast on me. The initial blast sends you into an Oriental vanilla trance but it then dries down to this warm powdery smell - kind of like being near a cozy fireplace during a cold winter night. Christian Dior's Addict has similar notes to this so if you like that you will like this. One note of caution: buy from a reputable dealer like BE. I once bought a bottle from a store locally and when I put it on it started to sting like acid, very unpleasant!

    I have been wearing Shalimar for years, and have never found any other scent that compares to it. It is the only scent I ever wear. It smells wonderful, and I frequently get compliments on it. It is a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it.
