 Review of Clinique Brow Shaper

Clinique's Brow Shaper Powder is THE BEST brow powder available. I've tried them all, from pricey high end cosmetics, to 99 cents drugstore brands- Most were far too orange-y. This Clinique powder is PERFECT! DON'T let the price dissuade you. One container lasts forever- at LEAST a YEAR of every-day use. It travels perfectly, too- The silver container/box exudes a simple, beautiful, understated elegance. Use- The brush that comes with it is OK for occasional use, but you really need to get a separate, high-quality, stiff brow brush for everyday use. (I found the best one at Sephora, ~ $10). I wet the brush- The powder/product is very, very hard/dense, & you have to rub the wet brush across the powder, to get a sufficient "mud" onto the brush. Trick/Tip- For all day wear, apply it heavier than needed, then finish it off w/ a top coat of translucent face powder rubbed into it, which really "sets" it. Beware, oil/foundation/moisturizer (grease, not water) are the enemy, & will cause fading during wear. Keep the brow area bone dry by setting it w/ face powder, & it will truly last all day! Also, allow a month of daily practice, to get the hang of it/achieve a natural look. Below is my summary of the 4 colors- Try them all, if/as needed, to find your best shade: *1) Charcoaled- Don't let the name fool you- It's NOT blackish at all. It's a soft, smokey/ashey/neutral light-medium grey/brown, non orange-y. *2) Soft Brown- Also a medium brown, but ever so slightly, a little warmer (more orange-y) than charcoaled- yet still a very natural looking brown. *3) Shaping Taupe- DARK DARK DARK! VERY DARK- This intense color is for black hair. *4) Wheat- BLONDE. A beautiful natural light-medium shade w/ a yellowish tone. Clinique's entire cosmetic line is very, very well made, high quality, & reasonably priced. No need to spend double or triple (or more) on Chanel, Dior, etc- Clinique really offers the FINEST quality cosmetics!
