The first time you burn one of the candles, it should be burned for at least two hours which allows it to burn evenly. After that, it can be used for any length of time. It really gives the home a lovely warm and sweet fragrance. It is perfect when taking a relaxing bath. It doesn't have artificial fragrances, so I can breathe in the wonderful scent without worrying about my health. The only minor problem that can occur is that it does scratch easily. A scratched candle still burns perfectly fine, but be warned that dropping a candle or hitting the side or top of it against a hard surface can mar it's finish or appearance. I could not improve upon this other than have it magically extinguish it's flame so that I could fall asleep with it lit! This product is definitely a worthwhile purchase!
